This unisex cowl is a real shield against the cold winter wind.
I named this cowl and the matching hat “Jeanne’s book” after my dear grand-mother’s name, who held a LYS, and who taught me the basis of knitting, crochet, embroidery, and so many other things!

Warm and light, Jeanne’s book cowl worked in round, and can be knit in a few hours.

Only basic skills are needed: knit and purl in rounds, yarn over, and a simple decrease technique.
A chart is provided, together with complete written instructions.

This beautiful cowl comes in one adult size (measured not blocked nor stretched):

• Neck opening approx. 25” (64 cm) around - bottom edge approx. 28” (72 cm) around.
• Height approx 10” (26 cm).

This patterns is easily adaptable: tips are provided to make it deeper, larger or smaller.

Il ne faut qu’une seule pelote (de 100 grammes) pour réaliser en quelques heures ce col unisexe chaud et léger.
Contrairement aux apparences, le point, simple et facilement mémorisable, ne nécessite que peu de notions de tricot (le jeté, tricoter 3 mailles ensemble à l’envers) en dehors des points de base.
Ce col se tricote en rond, et ne comporte donc aucune couture.
J’ai choisi un fil haut en couleurs pour un résultat gai et féminin, mais un fil tweed ou même uni pourra tout aussi bien mettre en valeur le motif de losanges très reliefé.

Pour créer ce col, j’ai adapté un point de dentelle trouvé dans un livre de tricot que m’a transmis mon arrière-grand-mère Jeanne.
