Jerri the Frog
This is a crochet tutorial for making a cute frog plushie that can be easily made into a keychain or used as a fidget toy.
A PDF pattern can be downloaded here, or a video tutorial is available on my YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/ROEItmlRXls
I have made this a couple times using different yarn.
The orange frog is using Flinders Cotton 8 ply, which is a very thin 8 ply, so I used a 3mm hook. This is shown in the video.
The light green fuzzy frog is using Nippers yarn, which is 10 ply, so I used a 4.5mm hook.
When testing the pattern, when I used Scheepjes Cahlista Cotton 8 ply, I used a 3.5mm hook.
Recommended equipment:
• 8ply yarn
• 3.5mm hook (test to see if you need to size up or down)
• polyfill stuffing
• yarn needle
• Scissors
• Pins – optional for adjusting placement during construction
I use US Terminology in all my patterns, in this tutorial I reference the below (this list is included in the PDF):
US Terminology = UK Terminology
- Magic circle
- Single Crochet = Double Crochet
- Single Crochet Increase = Double Crochet Increase
- Single Crochet Decrease = Double Crochet Decrease
- Single Crochet 3 Decrease = Double Crochet 3 Decrease
- Slip Stitch
- Chain
