Charon Littlefield was born and raised on Block Island and is a fantastic knitter. The cowl is named after the rocky bluffs and the point that jut into the Atlantic in front of her house. Jerry was her grandfather and the farm has been in the family for generations.

Charon loves the rolling waves of the ocean and designed this cowl with our Water Street Yarn made from Cashmere and Merino Wool. The pattern and heathery colors of the yarn capture the essence of the ocean. We hope you enjoy knitting and wearing the cowl.

North Light Fibers is a Micro Yarn Mill located on Block Island, RI where handcrafted minimally processed yarns are produced from exotic fibers such as alpaca, yak, camel, cashmere, mohair, bison and other specialty fibers. All washing, dyeing, carding, spinning and finishing is performed here at the mill on the Island. Please come visit and take a tour of the mill and see the farm – walk among the alpaca and pat a yak or feed the Scottish highland bulls. Our goal is to establish year round economic sustainability to a very seasonal economy in addition to producing world-class yarn. We hope you enjoy it!

The colour shown is Summer Ocean but any of the North Light Fibers Water Street yarns can be subsituted into the kit.

This pattern is sold as part of a kit (yarn and pattern) in great local yarn shops, in our store on Block Island and on our website.
