Jessica's Jacket
Garter stitch jacket with multiple color changes that occur at the sides. Vertical lines are embroidered in backstitch after the garment is assembled.
Level of Difficulty: Beginner
Measurements:
- Chest: 29 (35, 41)“
- Length: 15 (17, 19)“
Materials:
- Main Color (MC) in chunky weight yarn: 260 (330, 400) yds or approx. 3 (3, 4) 3.5oz/ 100g balls in black. (Mohair may be substitued, but since it will need to be doubled, yardages will also need to be doubled, and number of balls may change.)
- Contrast Colors (CC): Various lengths in 6 (7, 7) shades in chunky weight yarn or doubled mohair: blue-green (B), blue-purple (C), purple (D), red-purple (E), red-orange (F), yellow-orange (G), and yellow (H). For sizes M (L) only, 2nd blue-green (A). It takes 3 times the width of a row to work one row. For example, a row 20.5” wide would take 61.5” of CC to work one row and 123” of CC to work one garter ridge.
- Five (six, six) 3/4” buttons in colors to match CCs.
