Manos del Uruguay SILK BLEND (70% extrafine merino wool,
30% silk; approx. 150 yds/50 g): 7 sks. Shown in 3025 Shale.
US 5/3.75mm 40” circular needle, or size needed to obtain
gauge
Tapestry needle
GAUGE
24 sts and 30 rows = 4”/10cm in char t pattern, blocked.
NOTES
- The shawl shown contains 44 char t repeats, plus 1 stitch
to balance the pattern, and 3 border stitches at each side.
For a larger or smaller shawl, cast on more or fewer stitches
in multiples of 19. Every 19 stitches added or removed will
make the piece about 3¼” wider or narrower along its lower
edge. Plan on purchasing extra yarn if making a larger shawl.
