We were commissioned to create this religious piece for someone as they had admired our other designs and we feel like we have really risen to the challenge this time.
The design has an image of Jesus Christ in the centre with crucifix cross motifs in the corners. This shawl makes the most eye-catching garment or wall-hanging.
We have developed the pattern in different formats to follow: in a grid/block chart pattern to follow throughout, crochet symbols (for the first 5 rows so that you understand how to increase on each row) and written instructions for the first few lines until you get into the swing of it!
The yarn used was a black fingering 4 ply which created an adult size shawl. We think that any block colour would suit this design (especially purple!)
Knowledge of filet crochet is needed to be able to do this project. Filet crochet is not hard to learn and there are various you tube videos you can watch to help.
