Jewelflower Cowl
This lace cowl is knit in the round and features a 4-petaled floral lace motif. The lace motifs are all charted and not written out. It is knit with one skein of fingering-weight yarn. If choosing to substitute yarn, choose one with a nice drape that is soft enough to wear close-to-skin. This cowl is long enough that it may be wrapped for a snug fit around the neck, or worn loose like a scarf. You will need approximately 400 yards to knit the pattern as written. It may be easily modified by working more repeats of the pattern rounds, but will take more yardage to do so.
Jewelflowers are plants native to the arid Southwest region of the US. The plants love dry conditions - sending up a tall stalk in the spring with small star-shaped flowers in various colors, but most often in purple or white.
