This cardigan from the late 30s is made using a worsted weight yarn with large needles for a quick finish, and looks smashing with large buttons.

To fit: 34-36 inch bust (vintage size 16-18)
Yarn: Dawn Knitting Worsted (a true worsted weight yarn, an equivalent yarn is one that normally knits up at 20 sts per 4 inches on 4.5mm or 5mm needles)
Needles: US 7 and 10, metric 4.5mm and 6mm.
