Baby, toddler and children’s socks are quick to make and always welcome presents. This beginner’s basic (vanilla) toe-up pattern is for socks from 6 month to 13 year old children, made Two at a Time (2AAT), with a gusset and slip-stitch heel flap.

All instructions are based on 4ply (fingering weight) yarn, 2.75mm 100cm circular needle and covers 5 foot lengths. However, adjustments can be made for any yarn, needle or foot length by completing the calculations in the Calculations Table. Sizing is in cm, but this can be converted to inches by multiplying by 2.54. Gauge is both in cm and inches.

2 simple stitch patterns are included, 1 for a girl and another for a boy. Both are charted.
