Free acrylic DK weight yarn was enclosed with Let’s Knit! Magazine 41, April 2011 for making this doll.
Uses up to 30g each of DK yarn in dark pink, lime green, yellow, and light pink, and up to two ft of black. Safety toy stuffing. Tapestry needle.
The body pieces are knitted flat, seamed, and stuffed. The hat, skirt and bag are knitted flat and seamed. The rose decoration is knitted flat, then coiled. The bag pattern is not in the magazine; it must be downloaded from the Let’s Knit website. The bag does not open, but is sewn into closed position.
There is no stitch diagram or charts. There is an advice panel on not wasting yarn.
Pattern errata and construction notes from Ravelers
Body: This is knitted in one piece, then folded sideways with one seam down one side (not two seams).
Legs: Third from last line of this section should say “K3, k2tog (not k2, k2tog).
Rose: In UK terminology this would say “yrn”, not “yfwd” because yfwd in the UK just means bring the yarn forward, but you need to wind the yarn round the needle as well, to make a stitch.
