Jirachi is a Pokemon inspired by a shooting star and the Japanese festival of Tanabata where it’s a custom to hang up wishes to a bamboo tree. So naturally I had to make this cute little guy!

Materials
To make Jirachi you will need:
– A Crochet hook, 2.5mm
– White and yellow yarn plus some small amounts of blue yarn for the prayer slips; some black and light green yarn or felting wool for the facial details
– A tapestry needle and scissors
– Stuffing
– A stitch marker to help you keep track of the start of the round
Please note that you can make Jirachi using any size crochet hook and yarn weight for a smaller or bigger result. Using DK yarn and a 2.5mm crochet hook, Jirachi should be about 16cm tall.

Stitches & Abbreviations
The pattern is written using US crochet terms in continuous spirals. You will need to know the following kinds of stitches to make him:
– Chaining (Ch)
– Magic Ring (MR)
– Single crochet (sc)
– Decrease (dec); preferably using the invisible decrease method
