The JJ Beanie is the perfect unisex hat. All my boys wear this hat and love how warm it is. In fact I also one and just added a pom to give it that luxurious stylish feel.

You will find sizes for 6mth to adult in this pattern.

The stitches used in this pattern make this particular hat very stretchy. If you need to increase the size I personally would go up a hook size but it you need to increase the stitches this pattern is worked in sets of 8. Be sure to increase or decrease in sets of 8.
The band is made with a SL ST in the BLO so ensure that you work your band (tension) very loose or you will have trouble with inserting your hook into the stitches. If you wish you may choose to use a SC for the band ribbing instead of a SL ST. Just ensure that your band length measures 1” longer than the band for the required size. The SC band will not stretch as nicely as the SL ST band will. Also please note the Preteen and Adult sized band does seem short however, the positive ease on the band is about 5”.
