“I’m dying to go and fight with papa, but I can only stay at home and knit like a poky old woman!“ And Jo shook the blue army-sock till the needles rattled like castanets, and her ball bounded across the room.”
~ Jo March in Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women

Inspired by Louisa May Alcott’s classic story, Little Women, these socks are knit on a smaller needle in sport weight yarn to create a quick, warm, and super squishy pair of socks. The cartridge belt rib, a subtle nod to the soldiers Jo knits for in the novel, makes a thick but stretchy design. A reverse stockinette tab gusset gives a unique shape to the heel and instep. Sizes Small (Medium, Large).

Materials:
Needles: 5 double pointed needles size US 2
(or 2 circulars for magic loop)
Yarn: Approx. 300 (325, 350) yards sport-weight yarn (Sample knit in 1 skein Neighborhood Fiber Company Studio Sport “Anacostia”)
Notions: Stitch marker; Tapestry needle
