These socks are the first in a collection of socks inspired by the March sisters from Little Women. In the beginning of the book, the girls each receive a copy of the book Pilgrim’s Progress from Marmee as a Christmas gift. There follows an incident in the life of each girl that is reflective of something that happens in Pilgrim’s Progress. I chose to knit these socks in the same color as the copies of the book that each girl received.

Sizes: 7”, 8”, 9”, 10” circumference, unstretched. Because of the cables in these socks, the stitch count is slightly higher than an “average” sock.

Yarn requirements: Two (50 gm/220 yd) balls of sock yarn were more than sufficient for the sample size (8”). For largest size and/or a long foot, you may wish to have extra yarn.
