> Joann Elizabeth Beaded Faroese Shawl
Joann Elizabeth Beaded Faroese Shawl
This shawl begins at the neck and is designed with the shoulder shaping that all Faroese shawls have. The neck border continues down the shawl to create a beautiful seed stitch edging on each side of the shawl.
This pattern does not have any complicated stitches, but all right side rows are different and does require concentration due to the different rows. All wrong side rows are purl across the complete row. This shawl is seamless, so there is no sewing.
The pattern includes a link to a tutorial for adding beads, instead of stringing before beginning. If you do not want beads the shawl can be knit without adding the beads.
The pattern is not charted, but is fully written, with line by line written instructions.
I have designed several shawls and decided it was time I named one for my Mama, who always believed in and encouraged me in all that I pursued in life. Mama went to be with her Lord in the Spring of 2012.
