You will need:
• 2. 5mm - 3mm crochet hook depending on your comfort & tension. You want to have nice even stitches without gaps and stuffing poking through. I used both hook sizes 2.5mm on my original wilddog and 3mm on the darker version. There were only a small size difference. Just keep your tension even.
• Scissors
• Darning needle
• Stitch markers
• Stuffing
• Felting needle & wire brush
• Dk yarn in the following colours: (I use charity but you can look for similar colours in yarn brands that is available to you)
1- Peat- very dark brown almost black or you can use black
2- Camel – caramel brown
3- Porcelain-off white or you can use white
4- Walnut – woody brown
5- Tortilla-sandy brown
• 2x 18mm safety eyes and 1 safety nose

• Mr-magic ring
• Ch-chain
• Sc-single crochet
• Hdc-half double crochet
• Dc-double crochet
• Sl-Slip stitch
• St-Stitch
• Inc-Increase
• Dec-decrease
• Pop-popcorn stitch
• Long pop—work the popcorn stitch into the starting ch instead of the current rows stitches.
• Cc- colour change
• Fo-fasten off.

Notes
• This pattern is written in US crochet terms.
• Gauge isn’t to important, you just want to make sure that your stitching is even and tight enough so that there isn’t gaps between the stitches.
• Work in continuous rounds unless stated differently.
• You can change between Camel and walnut as you like on the body.
• Firmly stuff the body as you go.
• When adding hair to the tail. Do it colour by colour and brush it out. Keep the fluff for adding details to the body.
• before you sew any of the legs pin all 4 to the body first and only sew them in place if your wild dog can sit on his own.
• You can start the paws with any colour you choose depending on the reference photo you use. Every wild dog’s pelt and ‘sock’ pattern is unique. Some have dark paws others have white paws or even mixed paws. Do the colour changes as you please.
• I made my second wild dog using black, white and leather instead of walnut. And it also came out beautifully. So you can really adjust and swap out colours according to availability and taste.
