I have given the option of having a white stripe down the chest on the squirrel and give instructions on how to make this.
You can either make a tail in the same yarn as the squirrel body or you can use a furrier yarn to achieve the look as shown in the pics.

Stitches used;
Dc – double crochet
Inc – increase
Dec – decrease (I use the invisible decrease method which can be found on Youtube)
Mr – magic ring
Ch – Chain
BLO – Back loop only
FLO – Front loop only
You will need:
Below is a list of materials and tools I used. The yarn and extra’s are all optional. You can choose whichever colours/shades of yarn you wish, I have just noted what I used and that is what is shown in the pictures. Any DK yarn will work with this pattern.
DK Yarn: Main colour for the squirrel – Hayfield Bonus DK shade 0838
Yarn for a fluffy tail – James C Brett Faux Fur, Colour H1
White for the chest patch (optional)
Small amount of black for the embroidery around the eyes and the toes.
Dark Brown and Light Brown for the acorn
12mm Safety Eyes
