Make the knitted Johan Baby Hat!

When our nephew Johan came to the world, we made this scandi hygge style fair isle hat as a welcome to the world gift. Now we provide the pattern so that other small babies can warm their ears using this beanie.

This is a fun and easy pattern, so you can make this stylish children´s hat in no time.

ENGLISH PATTERN.

• Knitting pattern for a hat, six different sizes
• Knitting diagram for two different fair isle pattern
• Pompom stencil for cutting out, 4 different sizes

Skills level: Easy
You need to know how to knit and purl and knit 2 stitches together, and basic pattern knitting.

Yarn:
Aran worsted yarn fit for 5 mm knitting needles. Yarn group C / 10 ply. We´ve used:
- 50 g Drops Nepal - dark grey mix 0506
(Main color) for the smaller sizes, 100 g for the bigger sizes (6 mnths and up).
- 50 g Drops Nepal - nature uni color 0100
(Contrast color and pompom)

Needles:
5 x pointed needles, 5 mm. (US: 8, UK: 6). You can supplement with a circular needle for the bigger sizes.

You also need:
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
Scissors for cutting of ends.
Cardboard or a pompom maker.

Gauge:
17 stitches pr. 10 cm. Use the knitting needles and yarn that you need to get this gauge. You can also make a size bigger/smaller if you don´t have this gauge.

Sizes:
The sizes are: Premature 0-3 mnth 3-6 mnth 6-12 mnth 1-3 yrs 3-10 yrs.
