John Bear Amigurumi
This pattern provides you with step-by-step instructions on how to make this cute squid amigurumi.
Meet John Bear! John used to be a mean, unhappy bear. He was lonely all the time and he didn’t have any friends. Then, one day, he met a little boy and a little girl. These two children had always been together, and so they had never been lonely, and were very happy. They didn’t understand why John Bear was sad. He said many gloomy, depressing things to them, but they just smiled at him. He started to get frustrated. Why didn’t they understand? Why wouldn’t they leave him alone like everyone else did? Finally, the two children turned away, and they talked together too softly for John Bear to hear, and then they laughed. He turned around and started to walk away – it had finally happened again! Just like always! But then, there was a tap on his shoulder, and there were the two children, beaming at him angelically. “Won’t you come with us?” they said. John Bear was so happy that the children wanted him to stay that he started to cry. For a long time afterwards, the boy, the girl and John Bear were inseparable. As a mark of the love that they shared, the children sewed a heart on to John Bear’s chest. Eventually, the boy and the girl got older, and they no longer had time for John Bear. He had learned so much from them, though, that this didn’t make him sad – because he had learned how to love. So now, John Bear travels the world, using everything he has learned about love and friendship to make every child he meets happy.
