Jolly AF Beanie
This is a crocheted pattern using the waistcoat stitch giving this a knitted look.
This pattern and each set to come will require a decent knowledge or understanding of colorwork. Such as knowing when and where the best bobbin placement of colors should be added.
This pattern is Intermediate Level according to Craft Yarn Council.
Experience in reading a graph, the waistcoat stitch, carrying yarn, and color changing is highly recommended for making this pattern and having experience using these techniques or how to learn these techniques is intermediate level.
I have added videos of these techniques to my Facebook page, “Jennifer’s Stitched Up”. They are in the video sections tab and also in my Facebook group “Stitched Up Community” pinned at the top.
There are many YouTube videos on these techniques. I cannot recommend most of them on the waistcoat stitch because unfortunately they are wrong. I can recommend Tamara Kelly of Moogly Blog, Briana K, and The Crochet Crowd. Please know when learning these techniques that they require practice. When I taught myself how to make these designs it took the third try to fit properly. Watching my videos will help a lot.
Different yarn brands even though worsted have different thicknesses.
Please feel free to use any worsted except Caron One Pound. The overall measurements will be different even if gauge is met if you use a yarn not similar in thickness to what was used. You can see them made in many yarns in my Facebook group.
