The socks are designed in mosaic knitting which uses only knit, purl and slip stitches. It’s a very easy way to create a colorwork pattern while only holding one strand of yarn at a time. It’s as simple as knitting stripes. Really!
The pattern is very easy to memorize and knit up quick due to the DK yarn weight.

I designed two pairs of these using exactly the same mosaic pattern but the leading color is other in each pair: ‘MORE RED’ or ‘MORE WHITE’. That makes a very nice set you can mix and match freely to wear them as you wish: matched or mismatched, it’s up to you.

GAUGE
26 sts x 28 rows in PATTERN on a 2,5 mm (US size 1,5) needle = 10 x 10 cm (4” x 4”)
NEEDLES
2,5 mm (US size 1,5) sock needles of your choice: DPNS, short circulars or long circular for Magic Loop (min.100cm/39”) or other size you need to obtain the gauge.
I knit rather loosely and usually take needles a size smaller than recommended by the yarn brand. Probably a lot of you would take the needles a size bigger than mentioned above to obtain the gauge (it will be probably the size recommended by the yarn brand).

6 ply sock yarn (DK/ligh worsted)
Color A: 80 g/ca.220m in color red #907.0060
Color B: 80 g/ca.220m in color white #907.0094
Color C: 30 g/ca.125m in color #83.0198 (this yarn includes reinforcement thread)
Optionally an extra reinforcement thread:
5 g in color off white #0094*
I used this off white together with green to get marling effect on the heel and toe.
