Jonesy the duckling
This is a .pdf crochet pattern, written in standard American crochet terms for Jonesy the duckling. With this easy pattern you can make the sturdiest little aviator duckling, or a normal duckling.
Size
Size of finished duckling made with worsted weight yarn: 5 inch / 12,5 cm when sitting.
The crochet pattern contains
An intro with useful info. List of materials, tools and accessories needed. Brand and colour numbers of the needed yarn. A clear and colour coded description of how to crochet and assemble the animal. Pictures and illustrations to help getting everything right. All my patterns are text edited for correct English and have been tested by an experienced crocheter before publishing.
Materials
For this crochet duckling you’ll need worsted weight yarn and an E US/3.5 mm crochet hook. You’ll need two colours of yarn, yellow (2/3 of a 100 yard skein) and orange. For the eyes I’ve used 8 mm animal eyes. You will also need fibrefill and pellets for a bit of extra weight in the body (I use Hama beads). For the helmet you need three extra colours, brown, mixed black sheep and light grey. For the scarf you can choose any colour you like. Lopi colour numbers: duck: 1411 (1703) and 1410 (1704), helmet: 0053, 0054 and 0052, scarf: 9421, 9264 and 1407.
Yarn
Istex Lett lopi. I strongly recommend using a fuzzy yarn because it gives the best result.
Gauge is unimportant for this pattern. If the pieces are crocheted tightly enough, they will not gape visibly when stuffed. You can make a little test swap to be sure.
