This cabled, top-down raglan cardigan is named for the Norse settlement in England that became known as York, initially called Jorvik (Yor-vik). The wrought iron cable runs down the back, with smaller versions of the same cable on sleeves and at the side seams. There is no finishing, as the button band is integrated as you work the cardigan fronts.

US #3/3.25mm circular needle, 32 inches or longer (larger sizes may prefer a longer needle).

Gauge: 24 stitches/30 rows per 4” in stockinette stitch, worked flat. Ensure you use a correct needle size to make gauge in the round as well. Knitting in the round sometimes means you’re knitting more tightly; you may need to go up a needle size to make sure you stay at the correct gauge.
