Deborah Newton’s book Designing Knitwear (Taunton Press) has been in print for over sixteen years. She designs educational maps in a family business located in Providence, Rhode Island.”

Texture and simple shaping were my guides. And I love short-row techniques too, so it was fun to use it in the little cap sleeves.’”

Yarn: Karabella Vintage Cotton (100% mercerized cotton; 140 yd 128 m/50 g): #311 beige, 6 (7, 8, 9) balls.

Yarn Weight: #3 - Light

Needles: Sizes 4 (3.5 mm) and 5 (3.75 mm): 24” circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Markers (m); removable marker; tapestry needle.

Additional Gauge: 27 sts and 32 rows = 4” in lace and rib patt on larger needle.
