This afghan was designed and knit for my first grandson, Jotham.

For this pattern, any worsted weight yarn will do, but you will want a smooth yarn that will give you clear stitch definition.

Materials:
14 skeins Knit Picks Wools of the Andes, Clarity
US Size 8 circular needles

Gauge
20 stitches = 4 inches

The afghan that can grow with your child.
Afghan is knit side to side. If desired, double the amount of yarn can be purchased with half set aside. When the baby out grows the afghan, frog the seed stitch border on one side and last 10 rows of stitch pattern. Put back on needles, and continue with stitch pattern until afghan is desired length.

The 35 x 40” afghan is taller than wider as a baby afghan. When converted to larger afghan, the 40” side becomes the width.
