The different stitch patterns used are of the same stitch count, however laid out in a creative way, resulting in a unique classically shaped shawl.

The yarn is fingering, however any weight can be used. The gauge is not important. If you prefer a less “airy” look to the shawl, you can choose a needle smaller than 5mm. But the lightness makes the shawl very wearable and especially delicate.
