Here is a hat based upon the cloak embellishment from the video game “Journey”. It it worked in the round, starting with a st st facing that is turned up and knitted closed into the body of the hat (to avoid sewing up later!).

As written, the pattern makes a (very) large hat, with a circumference of about 24” (using worsted with a gauge of 22 sts per 4 inches). The size of the hat can be changed by choosing a lighter weight yarn (DK or sport) and altering the gauge to 24 or 26 sts per 4 inches.

One skein of Caron Simply Soft in each color is more than enough to complete this hat.
