The pattern was designed as an entry for the MY PLACE competition by KDD&Co. The yarn, Milarrochy Tweed, with its light and dark speckles, perfectly corresponds with the idea behind this design.

It was inspired by the way our mind influences the way we see the world. If it decides to put a dark filter on our vision, we find ourselves unable to enjoy whatever beauty might surround us. Similarly, it can switch to a bright one and suddenly we can be happy just watching a game of shadows the sunrays play on the windowsill. Like this, we can travel from sad to happy places without even leaving our homes.

The cowl is knitted in the round creating a long tube. Ends are then grafted together using Kitchener stitch while turning one end 180 degrees, creating a seamless moebius stripe.
