Joutsen hoodie is all about warmth when the temperature gets cold. Joutsen wraps tightly around your head, and it can also be used under a bicycle helmet in winter.

The hoodie is knitted in one piece starting with an I-cord tab on the front. The central cable motif starts from the front and continues towards back neck. Most of the hoodie is in soothing stockinette. Joutsen is shaped with short rows on the back of head. The ribbed neck band is tightened around your neck with two buttons. The neat I-cord edgings are worked at the same time with the body of the hoodie, so you have minimal finishing.

Alternative yarns

Any DK weight handdyed wool, soft enough to wear next to skin. You can use any yarn, but this will affect the size of the wrap, your gauge and the amount of yarn needed.

Needles: US 6 (4,0mm) circular needle of 80 cm and two dpns, US 2.5 (3,0mm) circular needle of 80 cm and two dpns.
Notions: Tapestry needle, stitch markers, waste yarn.

Joutsen-huppu on suunniteltu lämmittämään päätä ja korvia silloin, kun ilma on oikein kylmä. Se kietoutuu tiukasti pään ympärille, ja sitä voi käyttää myös polkupyöräkypärän alla.

Huppu neulotaan yhtenä kappaleena ja aloitus tehdään otsalle putkineuloksella. Keskellä huppua kulkee palmikkokuvio otsalta niskaan. Suurin osa hupusta on rentouttavaa ainaoikein-neulosta. Takana huppu muotoillaan lyhyin kerroksin. Joustinneulekaulus kiinnitetään kaulan ympärille tiiviisti kahdella napilla. Siistit putkineulosreunukset neulotaan hupun reunoihin työn kuluessa, joten viimeistelyä on hyvin vähän.
