Joy Overboard
Throw caution to the wind and dive Overboard 🌊 with this fun new shawl! Squishy Fisherman’s Rib combined with a simple mosaic pattern will have you jumping for Joy as you enjoy every stitch of this shawl.
Joy Overboard is an asymmetrical triangular shape and generous size shawl making it a cozy companion to ward off winter’s chill.
Inspired by my last trip to Four Purls when knitting together I heard a knitter say she just hates to purl, every time she would get to a purl stitch she would put her project down and pick up something else. Now that got me thinking…. do knitters really hate to purl?
Well, this one is for you Shannon! Not one purl stitch involved!!!
Kits are available right here at Four Purls Yarn Shop
Yarn: Emma’s Yarn Super Silky (80% Superwash Merino/20% silk, 400yards/100grams)
Main Color (MC): Elephant 740 yards - Coordinating Color (CC): Overboard 220 Yards
Needles: US 4/3.5mm 32” circular needles & one US 6/4mm for bind off
Notions: Stitch Marker, T-pins and blocking wires for blocking
Gauge: 22 stitches = 4 inches in Fisherman’s Rib Stitch, 18 sts = 4 inches in Mosaic after gentle blocking. Although gauge is not crucial for this project, it will affect the finished size and yarn requirements. A looser gauge will result in the use of more yarn.
Finished size: 42” x 53” x 67” after blocking.
Finished dimensions will vary due to blocking and fiber content; the silk in the sample resulted in a very drapey shawl.
