The JT Necktie is an adaptive knitwear pattern. It’s designed with a faux knot and an elastic neck for individuals with limited dexterity or mobility that may not be able to tie a traditional necktie. The fit can be customized to fit multiple sizes and ages. Once the tie is customized, it simply slips on and off via the elastic neck. Never tie a tie again!

The pattern is one size fits most, but includes instructions for make the tie longer or shorter to accommodate different heights. It’s knit up in herringbone stitch with an I-cord edging for a finished look. This is an intermediate knitting pattern. Required skills include yarn overs, I-cord, and basic assembly. The tie is finished with an elastic nick that requires either hand or machine sewing.

I selected Caron Simply Soft for this design so that it’s washable and allergy free.
