In 2022, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, seventy years of service, having acceded to the throne on 6th February 1952 when Her Majesty was 25 years old. This knitted wreath celebrated the occasion, and is decorated with the national flowers of the four nations: English rose, Welsh daffodil, Scottish thistle and Northern Irish shamrock.

Most pieces are worked flat (back and forth) on a pair of straight single pointed knitting needles, not in the round. The stalks are i-cord tubes worked on the two DPNs. The crochet hook is used to crochet single chains to decorate the rose. The pattern also incorporates a picot cast on and cast off, and a three needle bind off.

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the wreath is knitted in acrylic DK yarns. The platinum yarn has metallic threads for extra sparkle.
