The Julep Cami is knitted from cotton yarn, perfect for spring and summer temperatures. This simple cami design features a double V neck and back, I-cord straps, and an easy colorwork pattern with endless colorway potential.

CONSTRUCTION

The Julep Cami is worked bottom-up in the round, with no seams, beginning with an italian tubular cast-on and 1x1 ribbing at the hem. The body is worked in stockinette stitch, using stranded colorwork to add the dashed stripe detail throughout. The v neckline is made by placing some stitches on hold while working 1 triangle at a time, decreasing at each side. The triangle is finished with an I-Cord strap. Then the next number of stitches are picked up, repeating for 4 total triangles. The straps are grafted together with kitchener stitch.

This design is easily customizable – feel free to make the body or straps longer/shorter than directed. Keep in mind that this will use more/less yarn.

SKILLS

This is a written pattern assuming intermediate knitting knowledge and is not intended to be beginner friendly. Supplemental research or practice to learn new skills may be required to complete this project.

This pattern requires a working knowledge of: knitting & purling both flat & in the round, decreasing, stranded colorwork, i-cord, kitchener stitch, and reading a simple chart.

Circular needles are used to work in the round for the body, then split to work flat for the top triangles. The straps are then grafted together.

Cast-on methods suggested in this pattern are able to be substituted with any other method.
