Jules is actually a sleeveless top that can be worn as a vest too.
It is constructed with continuous rows (yes, that’s mean less cutting and no sewing,
because I am suck at sewing too). The stitches are easy and repetitive, which also means it is beginners friendly.
and with the supplementary excel spreadsheet, you don’t have to do the math~

p.s: if you are familiar with my design, you will know that I hate counting stitches,
and I always choose basic stitches because I love working on easy stitches or something that
can be worked on while binge watching your favorite series.

Materials & tools needed:
• Any COTTON YARN / MORE STRUCTURED YARN #1 fingering weight yarn / #2 Sport weight yarn
• Respective crochet hook for any weight yarn that you choose and one size larger hook.
• Scissors
• Stitch markers
• Measuring tape / ruler

Yarn recommendation:
Based on my measurement, I used:

  • approximately 180gr of #2 sport weight yarn - WPI 16 (#1 fingering weight silk cotton blend yarn - color: jade, triple pulled with 1 strand of Glitter yarn and 1 strand of sequin yarn)
  • approximately 110gr of #1 fingering weight cotton blend glitter yarn - WPI 22, color: white silver if you used pure cotton yarn you might need to double the amount, as pure cotton yarn is heavier than cotton blend yarn. Yarn recommendation:
  • DO NOT USE acrylic, acrylic blend, milk cotton yarn (I have tried it with milk cotton yarn and the result is too stretchy and flimsy, it doesn’t have the fit that I am aiming for)
  • Pure cotton yarn will form crisp and more constructed piece
  • Do not use any yarn that is too silky, too stretchy or too flimsy

Crochet hook reference:

  • Top with triple pulled #1 fingering weight yarn (jade color) : I used 4.00 mm hook for FC and 3.50 mm hook for the panels
  • Top with #1 fingering weight yarn (white silver color): I used 2.50 mm hook for FC and 2.00 mm for the panels do not size up your hook, this pattern works better with tighter tension.
