A very quick and easy gift for yourself or others. This hat can be finished in just a couple of hours. Little girls love the splash of colors and original flower. Older girls love the fit and warmth.
This hat was designed to be worked holding two strands of yarn together. It would also be great in bulky yarn.
This hat works up very quickly and easily holding two strands of yarn together.
Sizes:
Toddler (12-24 month), child (3-10 years), teen/small adult, adult.
Head circumference: 17-18 (19-20, 21-22, 23-24) inches.
Finishing Measurements:
Hat Circumference: 16 (18, 20, 22) inches (1-2 inches of negative ease).
Length without ear flaps: 7 (7 5/8, 8 1/4, 8 1/4) inches.
Note: Pattern is written for smallest size with changes for larger sizes in parentheses. When only one number is given, it applies to all sizes.
Yarn: Caron Simply Soft (100% acrylic; 7 oz/198 g/366 yards/334m): 2 skeins in robin egg, A; and 1 skein in orange separated into two balls, B.
Yarn Substitution: Bernat Satin, Patons Merino Wool, Knit Picks Swish worsted or any worsted weight yarn (check gauge).
Hook: US I/9 (5.5 mm) crochet hook, or size needed to obtain gauge.
Notions: yarn needle, stitch marker (SM).
Gauge: 12 st and 6.5 rows to 4 inches in dc, holding two strands of yarn together.
