Julio the Axolotl
JULIO THE AXOLOTL is my tribute to this magical Mexican creature and I took his name from the lovely short story “Axolotl” written by Julio Cortazar.
Axolotl comes from Náhuatl (Aztec language) and they are known as “water monster”. They have an average life of 15 years ( although they can live up to 25 years). They are solitary and elusive, and capable of limb regeneration!
If crocheted with the suggested hook and yarn, Julio´s size is 40cm. long (16 inches)
The pattern is suitable for both beginners and more experienced crafters.
Required skills for this pattern: magic loop, crocheting in spiral, color-changing, increase, decrease, and the basic crochet stitches, single crochet, and double crochet.
If you have any questions about the pattern, feel free to contact, me, I will be happy to help you!
The pattern is available in English (US) and Spanish.
