Julius the grinning frog
Easy pdf crochet pattern for a red-eyed frog amigurumi toy suitable for beginners.
US Crochet abbreviations. No swatch needed.
Julius the red-eyed grinning frog was designed as part of an e-book that was created from 8 Greek amigurumi designers in order to raise money for the persevation of Greek wildlife and animals that have been put in danger by the large scale wildfires in summer 2021.
The idea of designing a frog came up from a doodle that my daughter scetched on her school book. She loves frogs! Furthermore, red-eyed tree frog is a species that suffers habitat loss through deforestation.
Julius, is an easy pattern, suitable for beginners too. Despite that, in order to make this amigurumi, you need to have some basic skills of how to crochet in a continuous circle (spiral), how to increase and decrease stitches and how to change colours. It is suggested that you use the techniques of invisible increase and decrease. Julius measures about 28 cm from eyes to toes if made with the suggested yarn and hook.
It will be very helpful to read the pattern before you start crocheting.
The pattern concludes many detailed pictures of the procedure.
You will find the photo tutorial very helpful.
I wish you happy crocheting!
