A beautiful tradition of wedding shawls was an inspiration for this design. It is a weightless and airy shawlette that can be given as a gift to the bride or worn to a close relative’s wedding.

I came up with my own unique method to achieve a crescent shape in the shawlette. The placement of the markers at the beginning of shaping makes it a very easy task, then shaping is achieved by working short rows and turning the work without wrapping. If markers were placed properly, there is no need to even count the stitches. I’ve used this method in my previous design Primavera.

MATERIALS
The sample shown was knitted in the new yarn by Shibuiknits named Cima. It is a beautiful high quality lace weight alpaca yarn. Check out Shibuiknits website for the dates of the availability of this yarn.
The yarn may be substituted with any lace or light fingering weight yarn. Substituting yarns may result in a different finished size and may also affect yardage required. For best results use a natural fiber.

GAUGE 19 sts X 32 rows = 4 inch square in blocked Stockinette Stitch.
Note: gauge is not very important for this pattern, however it will affect the final size of the piece.

NEEDLES
US #5 (3.75 mm) this size needed only to CO sts.
US #3 (3.25 mm)
