Meet the Junior Acacia Vest - the perfect little introductory project to cable knitting that you simply won’t be able to put down! Knitted using two strands of DK weight yarn held together, this adorable children’s pattern encourages you to experiment with colour and is perfect for using up scraps!

Skill level: Intermediate (includes video tutorials to ensure the pattern is beginner friendly)

You will need 135g-200g of DK weight yarn.

I used the Hobbii ‘Acacia’ yarn which was kindly gifted to me. If you too want to be super meta, I would highly recommend this yarn for this project ;) Otherwise, any soft DK yarn will work.

You will need 5mm knitting needles. This piece is knit flat, so you can use circulars or straight needles, whatever you prefer! I personally prefer and recommend using circulars, as they allow for more flexibility when knitting and ensure your stitches will all fit/stay on your needles.

You will also need a cable needle and some stitch markers.

Written for children’s sizes 1-8 years.
