JUPITER SWEATER

When I first felt the squishy, voluminous Snefnug and Midnatssol in my hands I immediately wanted to make a lightweight, oversize, cosy sweater with great stitch definition and cables. The result is the Jupiter Sweater, named after the planet with the 79 moons.

The sweater is a quick knit (knit on 8 mm needles for the most part), knit top-down. The knitting begins with the top back piece, which is knitted flat as a rectangle on circular needles. Once the back is done, you will pick up stitches for first the right front piece, then later the left front piece, while increasing for the V-neck. Later the three pieces will be joined (under the arm pits), leaving you one piece being knit flat. Once all the V-neck increases have been made you join work on the front in order to shape the V-neck.

Then sleeves sts are picked up and sleeves worked in the round with a fine cable pattern all the way to the sleeve ribbing. Both body and sleeves are finished with Italian bind off to give a stretchy feel. As a finishing touch the V-neck is decorated with a ribbing edge in two strings of Midnatssol.

SIZES
The fit is designed to be quite oversize, but you can easily make it more fitted by choosing a smaller size, or even two sizes smaller. In order for the pattern to be most visually appealing I have designed three lengths to choose from; short, medium, and long. As you can combine th width and length to your preferences, you have a number of options to make this into oversize, petite, fitted, long, plus size etc.

The sizes have the following chest circumference:
XS - 106 cm
S - 112 cm
M - 124 cm
L - 131 cm
XL - 140 cm
2XL - 144 cm
3/4XL - 156 cm

MATERIALS
For the design I have used a combination of Camarose Snefnug and Midnatssol, but you can easily replace those with different yarn bases as long as you keep the 12.5 sts/19 rows per 10 x 10 cm.
