A simple, long stocking cap with a fold-up brim. Decreases spiral around the cap so that it maintains a conical shape.

I found that most stocking cap patterns make up into, essentially, two triangles attached at the sides, which is not really how a cone is formed. I worked out a pattern where the decreases spiral around the hat so that the end result is a bit more like a true cone shape. I’m rather fond of tassels on a hat like this, so instructions for a basic tassel are included.

Yarn requirements:
75-100 yards for the brim
150-200 yards for the body

The XS size will fit toddlers while the M size will fit most adults.
