Just a Worm Amigurumi
Materials and tools:
1 ball Sport weight cotton yarn in light tan (I used Bernat Softee Baby Cotton in Feather Gray) no. You will have a lot left over.
Sport weight cotton yarn in navy blue (I used some scrap yarn I had)
Sport weight red yarn for scarf
2, 12mm or 14mm safety eyes. Black or brown are acceptable.
2.75mm crochet hook
2.75 mm knitting needles (if you choose to knit the scarf)
Embroidery or yarn needle
Pastel Crayon or acrylic paint in navy blue, pink, brown and black
Stiff, short bristle paint brush if using pastel
Thin paint brush for face shading
Stuffing (Polyester fiberfill)
Approximately 7” long piece of 16 gauge wire
Abbreviations:
Sc: single crochet
Inc: increase (two single crochet stitches into the same stitch)
Dec: decrease (invisible decrease is worked into the two front loops only of the stitches to be crocheted together)
Ch: chain
St: stitch
Sl: slip stitch
Hdc: half double crochet
MM: move marker to the last stitch completed
Blo/ Flo: back loop only/ front loop only
PM: place marker
Sk: skip stitch
CO: cast on knitting needle
Note: Entire pattern is worked in a continuous spiral without joins unless where specifically stated.
Occasionally you will need to move the marker to keep the pattern uniform on both sides.
The pattern is worked from the tail to the head in one piece.
You can use whatever size yarn you would like to make him bigger or smaller and adjust the hook size accordingly.
Finished size is 8” long and 6” tall.
