Use a luxurious strand of lace mohair/silk held double with some beautiful sock yarn to create something soft and magical. Even if you don’t have a big yarn budget, sometimes a tiny bit of luxury is nice.

For this design, you can use stash, leftovers, special skeins or even mini skeins as the base. I used some ombre yarn I had leftover from my As You Like it Sweater, which was Just Enough to create these hats. Using what we have and using up leftovers is good for the budget and good for the planet.

Some ideas:
• Use one colour, either a solid or speckled yarn and match or contrast the mohair.
• Use leftovers to make an ombre of your own and match or contrast the mohair.
• Make bright bold contrasting stripes in as many different colours as you like.
• A rainbow hat would look amazing, with neutral mohair!
• Show off some beautiful handspun with a mohair of choice.
• Perfect for a set of mini skeins all tied together with a lovely mohair.

The hat is worked from the brim to the crown. The ribbing is 1x1 twisted rib and then moving on to the body of the hat being a simple stocking stitch with a purl detail for texture and to keep it interesting to knit, while being very simple. Just enough to be interesting but yet quick and fun.
