This light and airy rectangular shawl has a center which is knit straight through from end to end, the traditional Ocean Wave lace edging (from Sharon Miller’s Heirloom Knitting) is then knitted onto the finished body. The shawl was designed to showcase „Twinkle“, a 99% merino luxury yarn - the beautifully integrated micro sequins sparkle subtly with movement, and are tiny enough not to affect the feel of the yarn. In order to achieve the open texture, the piece shown was knit with two lace weight yarns on a larger needle size than you might normally choose for them. The pattern is also suitable for different weights of yarn.

Yarn 1: Twinkle (center), 99% merino / 1% sequins, 100g/1500m - total amount 810m
Yarn 2: Whisper (edging), 50% shantung silk / 50% kid mohair, 50g/500m, total amount 420m
Needles: 3,5 mm
