Most of the blankets I have made have flowers on them, so I wanted to try to make a blanket entirely out of flowers! You can crochet as many flowers as you would like to make your blanket the desired size. You could make a smaller one and place it over the back of a couch or chair. While I was filming the video tutorial and taking the step-by-step pictures, I made some small samples of four flowers joined together that I think I am going to use as decorations!
The blanket that I made has 12 rows with 8 flowers per row and is 40 by 60 inches (102 by 152 cm) as each flower is about 5 by 5 in. I used Paintbox Cotton Aran yarn (100% cotton; 50 g; 93 yd skeins) in the following colors: 3 pale lilac, 3 vanilla cream, 3 ballet pink, 3 rosy pink, 3 vintage pink, 3 slate green, 3 pistachio green, 3 mustard yellow, and 2 daffodil yellow. However, any Aran or medium weight yarn should work well for this blanket!
There are step by step pictures throughout the written pattern and two video tutorials. The first video shows how to make the flowers and is on my YouTube channel. The second part will be coming soon and shows how to join the flowers. I hope you enjoy the pattern!
Update: the video for part 2 is ready and the link is now in the pattern pdf!
