This shawl was actually the inspiration for the Juste Millieu Cowl.

Like the Cowl, it is mostly garter stitch with a lace edge that consists of a simple 6 row repeat, combining the best of both worlds--garter stitch with just enough edging to keep the knitting interesting but not overwhelming. The crescent shape is achieved by working a simple kfb increase and then an equally simple k2tog decrease. This construction also makes it easy to customize. Just use half of your yarn to increase then use the other half to decrease.
