These Jute Cat Toys are really nice toys for your cat. The pattern is very easy and it is easy to make. Jute rope/twine crochets is probably a little stiff and hairy (especially when you make a mistake and you have to frog it ), but it is really worth it.

Crochet the ‘Cat Toys’ using the crochet patterns in PDF format. There is one pattern for the Cat Fish and one pattern for the Cat Mouse. The patterns contains explained written instructions in English and uses US crochet terminology. It is including a crochet chart of the letter B. The pattern is not available yet in Dutch.

MATERIALS for each cat toy

• Used yarn: Jute Rope/Twine (approx. 75 m and approx. 185 g). Thread thickness is approx. 3 mm. You will need approx. 5-8 m. Little bit of black Cotton yarn, for example mercerised Lammy Yarns Rio (approx. 125m and 50g), to embroider the head of the fish
• Size 4.5 mm (US: G/6 or H/8, UK: 7) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge and made of steel, not wood because of the stiff thread.
• Row Counter
• Stitchmarker
• Yarn needle with big eye and embroidery needle
• Scissors

MEASUREMENTS

The cat fish is approx. 10 x 4,5 cm (= 4 x 1,77 inch) and
The cat mouse is approx. 10 x 5 cm (= 4 x 2,5 inch).

GAUGE

11 sc and 11 rows = 10x10 cm (4 x 4 inch)
