Juxtaposition
My newest design is an asymetrical shawl contains of elements like stripes, short rows ,simple squishy garter stitch sections , simple lacy bits and pretty mindless knitting .
From time to time you need to pay more attention ,but I wouldn’t say it’s tough brain surgery stuff…sp it is perfect for a quick gift knitting project or whilst watching TV.
Juxtaposition uses 4 different colours of fingering weight yarn.
For the main parts I used 1 skein of HerbstblattRegina „90’s snow suits“ in the Hazel soft sock base which is 100g =400 m of a 80% Merino and 20% Polyamide yarn ( it’s the speckled pinkyellowish-yarn ) ( in the pattern it is Colour D)
and
1 skein = 100g ( 388m ) of Black Trilium fibers Merilon sock in the sail away“ colourway
( 75% sw Merino and 25 % Nylon ) ---( in the pattern this is colour c )
1 Ball Geilsk Tweed petrol (100 g =379 meters) ..( in the pattern Colour B)
and just 10g of Geilsk Tweed white as Colour A
It is worked flat from side to side , in the end we knit “ bridges” to form the braid in the end. A little video tutorial on how to form the braid is provided in the pattern with a link to my video .
The final shawl is
2,65m long ( measured from one end to the other ) and 1,10m deep (measured on widest point )
