Kaarna scarf
Kaarna means bark in finnish. scarf is as unique as the bark of a tree: Slightly differently alternating cables, bobbles and ribbing for an interesting texture, like the surface of a pine tree. Additionally the inspiration was drawn from the yarn and its colour: Scarf was designed in collaboration with Finnish yarn and crafts company Willawanttuut and the yarn used is Finnish comb wool in the colour Kaarna.
If you want to use the same yarn, we have a suprise: When you buy Willawanttuut comb wool, you get the pattern for free! You can buy the yarn from here:

Kaarna scarf is knitted flat. Stitches are increased in both edges, then without increases and finally decreased in a similar matter. As a result, the scarf is shaped like a long kite or a finnish salty liquorice. Scarf has alternating ribbing, cable and bobble sections. Even though the cables are done similarly, they are slightly different at each part. All of the cabled parts and most of the increases and decreases are explained in the charts.
You´ll need:
100g (1 skein) WillaWanttuut comb wool in the colour Kaarna or 360m similar fingering/sport weight yarn (approx. 360m/100g)
Circular needles 3mm & 60cm
Cable needle or double pointed needle for cables
Stitch markers if you like
Gauge: 1 gauge swatch as instructed =
