Kahvi Coffee Cosy
Kahvi coffee cosy design was inspired by stitch patterns used in traditional Finnish festive gloves, knitted mainly in the 1800s in southeastern Finland. The coffee cosy keeps coffee warm in cafetières and can also be used for small teapots.
Pattern notes
Kahvi coffee cosy is knitted from the bottom up in the round, after which it is blocked and turned upside down to pick up stitches for a plain stocking stitch lining. Before the lining is complete, a sewn wool or cotton wadding is placed inside the cosy, and the knitted lining is completed. Block the cosy outer before knitting the lining, as it is essential for the knitting to achieve its shape and to bring out the pattern.
